A song about persevering and learning from pain, the ultimate teacher in this transient life.
lyrics
The hardest truth is one
That you must bear alone.
A scar that is a lesson,
The one that breaks your bones.
In those wasted midnight hours
When it comes biting at your neck,
The bloodletting of tragedy,
There is no going back.
Pain...
Is a master.
What has been done is done as I was told.
Stricken with fear in moments where I behold.
A lie or a truth that is discerning to be,
A pain so real that it brings you to your knees.
All that makes you weak,
Is what enpowers you.
Strength beyond the chains that bind,
Rise above your limitations.

Quite a departure from the wild territories they ventured into with their major label releases. So far, the greatest thrash metal I've heard released in the 2020's. Plus, it's not everyday you hear Rhea Perlman on a metal record. t0cktock

The album description mentions an “emotional apex.” That’s really the difference between Stare and the band’s previous albums. Ulcerate was always supremely technically proficient. I just didn’t care all that much. Their growth has come from making music you will feel. Metallurgical Fire
